Pharmaceuticals/Biotechnology
Highly perishable and high value products like pharmaceuticals demand dedicated handling and care. Often times this involves working very closely with government agencies such at U.S. Customs and FDA.
- Pharmaceutical Handling Procedure:
- Receive product and palletize onto appropriate wooden skids.
- Check for damage and notate.
- Verify quantity of boxes and match against packing list
- Take and record arrival temperatures.
- Place in appropriate storage cooler/freezer to await distribution.
- Transmit Receiving Report to importer.
Example of a Client Success
Problem: We recently received a call
from an importer that was receiving frozen egg yolks
from Japan for pharmaceutical purposes. These shipments
were always placed on FDA hold and kept in an airline
cooler. Over $10,000 of damage resulted from inadequate
temperature protection.
Solution: A-1 picked-up the freight and
held it at their facility under proper temperature
control while securing an FDA approval.
Results: The client was able to deliver
the product on time and intact to their client thereby
saving tens of thousands of dollars.
