Sample Shipments
When that all important DDP sample from the South Pacific has to get to a buyer's office in Chicago on Monday morning; let us take care of the logistics to ensure that your sample shipment arrives in the same condition as it left your warehouse. One of our Import Specialists will be happy to assist you. We can offer the following services:
- Receive product.
- Check for damage and notate.
- Verify quantity of boxes and match against packing list
- Verify condition of gel packs / dry ice and replace if necessary.
- Take and record arrival temperatures.
- Place into appropriate cooler/freezer to await distribution.
- Update warehouse inventory and transmit Receiving report to client.
Example of a Client Success
Problem: Recently a client had the potential to
become a primary supplier to Costco Retail Stores. This contract was
worth millions of dollars. They merely had to demonstrate that their
ice cream could be easily delivered to Minneapolis from New Zealand.
Unfortunately the client assumed that the air lines would arrange
for the Custom Broker clearance, USDA inspection, FDA exam and
re-icing. They did not.
Solution: A-1 sprang into action by arranging to
terminate the shipment in Los Angeles rather than through to
Minneapolis. They also arranged the proper clearance, inspections,
exams and approvals in a matter of hours.
Results: The client was able to deliver the product
to Costco and received the contract.
